Ford Escape slight jolting when accelerating

Asked by Crystal Aug 03, 2022 at 12:43 PM about the 2017 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2017 Ford Escape SE 4cyl - Ecoboost 1.5T-
I had to replace the transmission and it was running
normal for about 3months. It started having slow
acceleration so I took it to Ford. There wasn't a light on so
they couldn't pull any codes. I requested to replace the
spark plugs and air filter. I get it back and now it jolts
(lightly) upon acceleration sometimes. It is strange the
fact it doesn't do it always and only randomly. I know
something is wrong I just don't know if it's a hose leak or
something to do with the fuel system. Any guidance is very
appreciated!

It starts up fine, has an automatic transmission with
136,000 miles on it.

There are lots of articles online on the Ecoboost Ford models of this era to have engine and trans issues. I would say it is a trans issue. Have the shop that install it test drive it. But can you afford to trade it in and get another vehicle? I know you just dumped a lot of money into it recently. You will forever be chasing the demons.
