Power windows

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Neither power windows works in a 2005 Jeep
Liberty I just bought. Is it possible for BOTH
motors to be bad? I checked the LOCK button on
the console for the windows and they do not open
when engaged or disengaged. Help!

Dont panic. It could be as simple as a fuse. Start there (usually under $2-$3 fix). If you check the fuse and its fine, then I would check the relay for the master window switch (the one that locks/unlocks the window functions). If thats bad you can order a new one on amazon, or pull one from a salvage yard on the cheap. Ill keep an eye on your post if you have further questions. If the methods above do not solve your problem, it may be the window switches in each door, or the motors in each door but that rarely occurs at the same time. Best of luck!

I've also heard that the lock feature has a tendency to lose contact and stops your window functions.... The tutorial I watched showed a bad solder connection in the lock switch....

I'm having the same problem. Changed the fuse and still nothing on all for Windows. Any idea what it could be?
