Question type: General

How long should a car battery last?  When you buy a new battery, how long
does the warranty last?   Not sure of the year, maybe 2011 or 2013

Wow that's ancient for a battery, I think anything over 3 years on a battery is a gift. Warranty varies with price.

I was referring to the year car bought not the battery. Wondering when you buy a battery how long does the warranty on it last.?

Batteries and battery warranties are not what they used to be. Typically they last 4 years if they are of decent quality. Optima batteries have a reputation for lasting longer.

I just bought a motorcraft battery from the Ford dealer and had it installed for $40 more. Mine has a 3 year replacement, then 5 years prorated, for a total of 8 years.
