10 Suburban -Transmission Fluid and Maintenance
I have an 2010 Suburban LS. We put alot of miles on it every year about 50K. I have about 89k miles. When should I have transmission serviced.
What does your owners manual say? Seems like you do a lot of highway miles which is easy on the transmissions, but is some of that towing? If so, then it can't hurt to change it out if you have the money to do so and you are keeping the truck for awhile.
Do Not do a flush, have the pan removed, fluid and filter replaced. Flushing the system at the local jiffy lube takes all the contaminates that the filter caught and blows them back into the transmission completely defeating the purpose of a filter and putting contaminates where they don't belong.
I would have the fluid and filter changed yearly. Cheap insurance since you heavily depend on the truck.
thanks for the feedback. Will get it changed shortly.
