Stalling out

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My gmc 3500 will start up in the morning just fine. As I start
to drive after a few miles it loses all fuel and dies. Then I try
to start it and it just cranks and cranks and finally will start
but it is very hard to keep it running while driving. I've
cleaned the throttle body and replaced the front gas tank
fuel pump. Also put on new plugs an d wires

You should do a fuel pressure bleed down test. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader Valve, build up fuel pressure on the gauge, should be 56 to 63 lbs, then turn the key off. Watch the fuel pressure gauge to see if it drops in pressure, It should not drop down more than 5 lbs. in three minutes. If it does then there is a problem with leaky fuel injectors. Check the fuel pressure regulator, pull the vacuum line off to make sure it is not leaking.
