2001 ford explorer sport turns off when i let go of gas

Plz help my 2001 ford
explorer sport suddenly turns
off if i let go off the gas
pedal. Plus i have to turn it 3x
for the car to start. I cant
afford a mechanic. Im going
to get rid of it within a few
months but i need it now to
take my kids to school safely.
Any ideas ?
