I am about to purchase a 2009 Galant and the SRS light is on and the (!) light is on too. Is this something I should reconsider the purchase?

SRS means Supplemental Restraint System and is usually an air bag fault. But SRS includes seat belt pre -tensioners also, that upon impact the seat belts automatically tighten up on you. The (!) may be brakes, anything from Parking brake not all the way off to low fluid in master cylinder. But not limited to those. Personally, I would not buy any car that has those warning lights on, unless you take the car to the dealer or reputable shop and have it diagnosed. It may or may not be expensive.
