Starter and battery

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm am trying to figure out how the starter
connects on my 99 Cadillac Caters. What I
need to know is , Does the positive battery
terminal connect to the starter ? If so does it
also have a ground? A friend connected
mine this way but just doesn't look right.
Please help!
