Driveline Vibration 80 to 100km/h
I have a vibration occuring at speeds of 80 to 100km/h. It feels like imperfections in the road surface resinating through the car. The autmatic gear shifter shakes and the vibration can be clearly felt through it. When I accelerate with more gas the cruising it goes away and the same happens when I coast. I have replaced and rebalanced the tires. I checked the engine mounts today too, and they seem fine (not loose or broken). I had the mechanic who replaced the tire check the u-joints while he was working on it and he said they were fine. Any idea what might be causing this?
check for proper air pressure in the tires first, then check alignment and balance of the tires
yes, I have the same problem with my 2003. The rubber mountings on the driveline are worn out or gone. The only solution is to replace the driveline since these mountings are not replaceable. Good luck my friend.
not necessarily, i believe it is BMW or Merc who uses the same part and the parts are sold separately. to the original poster, go to cadillacowners.com and go to the CTS section of the forums and someone can give you the exact part required.
