Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2002 ford focus. when going over bumps and going left on the highway/ on-off
ramps the car does a waving/shifting motion. i cant for the life of me to figure out what the
problem is. I changed the bold under the car for the sway bar and its still doing it.

ok thank you. they are fairly new tires, the guy had just put them on when he parked the car in February. i got the car about a month and half ago.
There are a number of things to check that hasn't been mentioned here: Control arm bushings and Ball Joints are the leading cause of wandering. Also, loose tie rods (inner and/or outer), shocks/struts, mis-matched tires etc. Many local shops will do a chassis evaluation for around $20. They'll hoist it, give a wiggle, shake and a couple of pokes with a pry bar and tell you exactly what they find.

Well I think I found the problem. Went to do an alignment and noticed the rear passenger tire was moving side to side. So looked it up and its the control rod!
