Should I cut my springs or buy a lowering kit? I'm not a racer but like that look.

Buy a lowering kit. Cutting springs is not an exact science. You may get more or less drop than you want if cutting the springs.

I actually agree with James and Bob on this one, go with the lowing kit if they even make one for the 124 Spider or get a 1st gen Miata since there is a huge aftermarket parts supply. Both are cool cars!

Heres my old MX-5 that I lowered. Oh yeah what ever you do dont cut the springs.

Here is link to your lowing springs although it doesnt look like it lowers the car much in the picture. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/331404719327?lpid=82&chn=ps

BTW, all the pics of those MX-5's look great. I just have to keep the Spider since its been in the family for 30 yrs. I'll give it to my God Son in 20 yrs. Thanks

Call me the lone dissenter if you want but........, I shortened the springs on my Spider 2000 exactly one coil. I have since put 3,000 miles on a car that looks better and handles better than it previously did. As far as getting rid of the Spider for a Miata; EVERYONE drives a Miata and Spiders just plain look gorgeous. Besides, what fun would it be if you were sure that your car made it from point A to point B and back everytime without breaking down?
