why is my corsa 1.7dti smokes black and loose power on up hills?

Hallow I have a 1.7dti corsa bakkie utility it has black smoke and also loosing
power on hills.What could be the problem?

are you sure it's black? There's blue smoke and there is white smoke as well. ..to be cont'd
