My 1985 Dodge Ram D-150 With a 318 will turn over and fire but will not start

Why is it when I turn the key to crank the
Vehicle the truck fires and then dies when
key goes to run ?

Yup sounds like ur lock cylinder for ur key is broken so just replace the lock cylinder on the column and let us know what happens
