The 2022 Porsche Macan retained much of its original design from its 2015 debut, despite undergoing several updates over the years. Our test vehicle, a Macan S, was equipped with nearly $20,000 in extras, including performance upgrades and a striking Volcano Gray paint job. Inside, the Macan featured a sporty and upscale cabin with red leather, gloss black trim, and silver metallic accents, drawing inspiration from other Porsche models.

The 2026 Toyota bZ, available in XLE and Limited trims, offered a choice between single-motor FWD and dual-motor AWD configurations, with two battery sizes. Our XLE test vehicle featured FWD and the optional larger battery, transforming it into the XLE Plus. The bZ's exterior design improved with body-color trim, enhancing its visual appeal. Inside, the bZ boasted a cleaner dashboard and center console, with a 14-inch touchscreen integrated with climate controls. The fabric seats featured an upscale pattern, and the digital driver display, though criticized for its placement, provided essential information. Overall, the bZ's interior offered a sense of quality and organization, with thoughtful storage solutions and user-friendly controls.

Our XLE Plus test vehicle demonstrated impressive efficiency, averaging 4.5 miles per kWh on a fuel economy loop. However, the bZ's performance on winding roads was limited by its tires and steering, making it more suitable for comfortable city driving and highway cruising.

The 2022 Porsche Macan offered a comfortable driving experience for front-seat occupants, with optional 14-way power-adjustable seats providing heating and ventilation. However, rear-seat space was limited, especially for taller passengers. The redesigned center console featured haptic touch controls, though it required drivers to look away from the road.
