2025 Jeep Wrangler Reviews SummaryYou know what you’re getting with the Jeep Wrangler: Iconic looks and legendary off-road ability but an overall package somewhat out of step with the times. Even so, it’s a model that’s continually evolving and Jeep does its best to appeal to the broadest cross-section of customers possible. You can get a Wrangler with two-door or four-door body styles, and your choice between three engines and seven trim levels. This year, all 2025 Wrangler models have standard power windows and door locks, the V6/automatic drivetrain returns to the lineup, while new colors include ’41 (drab green), Mojito (bright green), and Joose (orange). Verdict: Rough, raw, and unrefined, the 2025 Wrangler is made for adventure and getting dirty. The top comes off. The doors come off. There are drain holes in the floor so that you can hose it out. This Jeep can be unpleasant to drive daily, yet we love it just the same.
2025 Lexus RX Hybrid Reviews SummaryIn 2024, the Lexus RX was the best-selling traditional luxury model in America. But is the midsize, two-row SUV’s popularity justifiable? Or does the RX sell on the strength of the Lexus brand and the model’s legendary reputation for reliability, a plush ride, and a quiet interior? The changes to the 2025 RX don’t help answer that question, unless you're looking for sportier choices, such as the new Black Line Special Edition shown here. Verdict: Though it lacks substantial competition in the luxury hybrid SUV segment, the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid is worthy of consideration. With hybrid, performance hybrid, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain choices, as well as a range of trim levels that cater to a variety of customer requirements, it checks a lot of boxes.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport S, with its black-on-black color scheme, was not the ideal choice for a tropical climate like Hawaii. Despite the initial disappointment, the vehicle's appeal became apparent once the windows were down, and the overhead panels were removed. The Wrangler's design, rooted in American freedom and military heritage, remained a strong selling point. Its rugged build and iconic seven-slot grille continued to attract enthusiasts, even though the interior lacked sophistication. The Wrangler's utilitarian nature was evident, with a focus on function over form, making it a popular choice despite its nearly $50,000 price tag.
In contrast, the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid, particularly the RX 500h Black Line Special Edition, offered a more luxurious experience. Priced at $75,000, this SUV featured an exclusive Incognito paint job and orange brake calipers, adding a touch of uniqueness to its otherwise unremarkable appearance. The RX Hybrid lineup included three models, each with varying power and efficiency. The RX 500h stood out with its 366 hp and sport-tuned features, though it sacrificed fuel economy for performance. Inside, the RX Hybrid boasted a contemporary design with quality materials and ambient lighting, providing a comfortable and spacious environment for passengers.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler offered two engine options: a 3.6-liter V6 with a six-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The latter produced 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, offering a lively performance, especially at higher elevations. Despite its rugged capabilities, the Wrangler's ride was rough, with slow steering and sloppy handling traits. Its fuel economy averaged 19.2 mpg during testing in Hawaii, and its three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA was a concern.
The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid presented a range of powertrains, with the RX 350h being the most efficient at 36 mpg and 246 hp. The RX 450h+ PHEV offered 304 hp and a 37-mile electric-only range, while the RX 500h delivered 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The RX 500h's sport-tuned suspension and Direct4 all-wheel-drive system provided a rewarding driving experience, though its fuel economy was lower than expected at 20.9 mpg. The RX 500h excelled in straight-line acceleration but lacked dynamic capability and communication between the driver and the road.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler's high ground clearance and narrow door openings made entry and exit challenging. Inside, the front seats were comfortable, with cloth upholstery and heated features in the Sport S trim. Rear-seat legroom was adequate, but storage space was limited, with small bins and flimsy nets. Cargo access was cumbersome, requiring the tailgate and rear window to be opened separately. The Wrangler offered 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 72.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid focused on occupant comfort and practical cargo space. The RX 500h's front seats were snug but lacked long-term comfort, while the rear seats offered ample room and optional power-reclining features. Interior storage was plentiful, though some compartments lacked lining. The RX Hybrid provided 29.6 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 46.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The hands-free power liftgate and cargo area buttons added convenience, though the cargo cover could be obstructive.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler featured the Uconnect 5 infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. The system was user-friendly, even with the roof panels removed. The Convenience Group pack added a 7-inch digital display and passive entry features. Rear parking sensors were available in the Active Safety Group package, enhancing safety during reversing.
The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid boasted a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 14-inch touchscreen display with the Lexus Interface infotainment system. The system included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and cloud-based navigation. The RX 500h offered a 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, though steering wheel controls were distracting. The head-up display was helpful, but not as comprehensive as some rivals. The RX Hybrid's technology was advanced, though occasional glitches were noted.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler added side curtain airbags as standard equipment, enhancing safety for front and rear passengers. Optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) included blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, though forward collision warning with automatic braking was limited to the Sahara trim. The Wrangler received a four-star frontal-impact rating and a three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA. The IIHS rated the Wrangler as Good in side-impact protection but Marginal in small overlap frontal-impact tests.
The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid came with Safety Connect, offering automatic collision notification and emergency assistance. Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 included forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. The RX Hybrid also featured Predictive Driving Assist and a surround-view camera. The NHTSA awarded the RX a five-star overall safety rating, while the IIHS rated it Poor in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test.
