However, this was a common trait among many electric vehicles, such as the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, which also blurred the lines between hatchback and SUV.

The ID.4 was built on VW’s MEB platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles, offering modularity to support various models. This platform was akin to the MQB platform used in VW’s gasoline models. The interior of the ID.4 carried over the quality and minimalist design from VW’s gasoline cars, with leatherette upholstery and recycled fiber inserts as standard. The base ID.4 Standard model, despite having a manual driver’s seat, did not feel like a significant downgrade from higher trims, maintaining a sense of quality throughout.

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 aimed to project a rugged appearance with its aggressive styling, including angular gray body cladding and dual exhaust outlets. Upper trims featured faux skid plates, and the TRD Off-Road model, priced at $38,295 plus destination, came with off-road-themed enhancements like robust roof racks.
