2022 Lincoln Nautilus Reviews Summary

The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus is a five-passenger crossover SUV based on the same platform, and using the same powertrains, as the Ford Edge. However, the Nautilus gets the full Lincoln design treatment, from its upscale exterior to its mid-century modern interior. Plus, in Black Label specification, it is downright plush. Though the Nautilus is getting old (it was last redesigned for the 2016 model year as the Lincoln MKX), a continuous program of improvement means it is aging gracefully.

2023 Genesis GV70 Reviews Summary

The definition of luxury has changed. No matter where you look in the various premium vehicle segments, there are entrants that you may not have seen decades ago. From performance SUVs to subcompact crossovers, there are new takes on upscale vehicles. But just as crucially is the entrance of new players. In 2015, the Genesis brand was officially spun off from Hyundai. And with the brand’s expansion into various segments, a compact like the 2023 Genesis GV70 was a must.

The GV70 was introduced for the 2022 model year and for 2023, an all-electric model joins the lineup. We evaluated the GV70 on the whole, but with a special focus on how effective the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified is as an EV and as a compact luxury crossover.

Look and feel
2022 Lincoln Nautilus
8/10
2023 Genesis GV70
8/10

The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus, especially in its Black Label trim, was a visually appealing SUV. Its design was well-balanced, avoiding any awkwardness while incorporating enough detailing to give it character. The Black Label trim's 21-inch machined-finish wheels added to its allure. At night, the Lincoln Embrace lighting sequence provided a welcoming touch. Inside, the Black Label offered a choice between the Chalet and Flight design themes, with our test vehicle featuring the Chalet's light gray premium leather upholstery. The interior was luxurious, with a simulated suede headliner and luxury floor mats, though some chrome-plated plastic pieces detracted from the overall opulence.

In contrast, the 2023 Genesis GV70 drew stylistic connections to the G70 compact luxury sedan, particularly above the belt-line. Its design featured split-bar headlights and a strong chrome line that curved from behind the rear window, giving it a coupe-like SUV appearance without sacrificing versatility. The GV70's interior was a testament to Genesis's luxury credentials, boasting top-notch materials and excellent fit and finish. The design was both contemporary and classic, with climate controls integrated into a curving bezel and a touchscreen that rose organically from the dash. The GV70's cabin was a blend of luxury and functionality, with a rotary dial and button controls complementing the touchscreen interface.
