| 2019 | 56 | 33.9% |
Higher-volume years usually give you more choices on trim, mileage, and condition, which makes it easier to compare listings and find the right balance of price and equipment. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often because inventory is deeper and easier to shop.
What is the Volkswagen Golf SportWagen's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2017 | $10,587 | −15.57% |
| 2015 | $10,151 | −8.26% |
| 2016 | $10,965 | +7.93% |
Most of the movement here points downward, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. One year shows a price increase, but the larger pattern is that recent values have softened for the model overall. That gives you a better chance to find a lower entry price on the years that have dropped the most.
The 2016, 2015, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Reviewed a 2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen on Jul 20, 2023
The 2019 Golf SportWagen is a near prefect car for our needs. it has sufficient power to be easily driven at freeway speeds all day. At the same time, it is small enough to be comfortable in city driving. The safety features and displays are state of the art, yet they recognize the driver as being the person in control. There is plenty of cargo space. With the rear seat folded, there is enough room for two adult bicycles in the back of the car. The car is very comfortable and the cloth sear option if VERY pleasant. The VW SportWagen is a VASTLY superior option to the panoply of ridiculous SUV choices, all of which are too big physically while having less cargo room. Good gas milage is a given. This may well be the last of the truly excellent small station wagons. The VW makes a good comparison with the Audi Avant and Allroad, but at a considerably reduced price point. There is not a car that I would rather have.
