Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Driver Assistance Package
• Infotainment: MBUX infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: 41 miles of electric range and 22 mpg combined in hybrid mode

Which Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers these trims:

• E 450 All-Terrain: The less-expensive wagon starts at $79,650 and adds a more rugged look, technology that can assist with light off-road travel, and a height-adjustable Airmatic air suspension. It suits buyers who want the wagon format with extra versatility.
• AMG E 53 Hybrid: This performance upgrade starts at $94,700 and adds the AMG-tuned plug-in hybrid setup, AMG Speedshift nine-speed automatic transmission, fully variable AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive, AMG Dynamic Select driving modes, AMG performance exhaust system, adaptive damping AMG Ride Control suspension, and rear-axle steering. It is the best-value pick if you want the strongest blend of performance and efficiency.

What Mercedes-Benz E-Class do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class years with the most listings are 2018, 2015, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right combination of price, condition, and equipment. They also often sit in the sweet spot where used-car shoppers can balance luxury features with broader availability.

What is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it creates more room for value. The steepest drops are concentrated in several newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are falling more slowly. That pattern suggests you can often find meaningful savings without moving all the way to the oldest cars.

The 2016, 2019, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

For the safest used buy, the 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 models all post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Mercedes-Benz E-Class now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −4.31% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −7.63%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $22,833. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers a spacious cabin, a refined ride, and a polished luxury feel that make it especially appealing as a used buy.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine is paired with a 120-kilowatt electric motor and 21.2-kilowatt-hour battery, and the wagon returns an EPA-rated 41 miles of electric range and 22 mpg combined in hybrid mode.
• Tech: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with an augmented reality navigation system and a Burmester 4D surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.
• Safety: The Driver Assistance Package adds 16 additional systems, including adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring, active lane-change assist, active lane-keep assist, and active steering assist.
• Starting price: The AMG E 53 Hybrid is the performance upgrade, with a base price of $94,700, including destination.

If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
