What should I look for when buying a used Cadillac Escalade ESV?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Super Cruise, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, front and rear park assist, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, and forward-collision assist.
• Infotainment: a curved 38-inch OLED screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, NFC phone pairing, and seven USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA hasn't rated the Escalade ESV for fuel economy but has done the traditional Escalade, which gets an EPA-estimated low of 17 mpg combined and a high of 23 mpg combined. RWD versions are more efficient. During a week of testing that epitomized combined driving situations including some idle time, the RWD Escalade ESV tester was averaging around 18 mpg—far better than what was anticipated.

Which Cadillac Escalade ESV trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV offers these trims:

• Luxury: the entry point, with the redesigned long-wheelbase body, 22-inch wheels, roof rails, power-extending assist steps, LED headlights with auto-leveling, and the upscale exterior presence that defines the model.
• Premium Luxury: adds more chrome styling and is the best-value trim for shoppers who want a richer look and a more upscale feel without moving to the top of the range.
• Sport: brings blacked-out exterior accents, including the grille and window surrounds, plus darker wheels for a more aggressive appearance.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: adds the most upscale trim-level treatment, and it is the trim where Night Vision is included.
• Sport Platinum: combines the Sport trim’s blacked-out styling with the Platinum-level luxury treatment.

What Cadillac Escalade ESV do most buyers choose?

The Cadillac Escalade ESV years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2024.

These higher-volume model years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you the broadest selection of listings and a strong mix of pricing and deal availability. That usually makes it easier to compare condition, mileage, and equipment before you buy.

What is the Cadillac Escalade ESV's resale value?

Most model years are down by double digits year over year, which creates more attractive buying opportunities for used shoppers. The pattern is broad and consistent, with only a few years showing smaller declines than the rest. That makes the current market especially favorable if you want a newer Escalade ESV at a lower price than it carried a year ago.

The 2017, 2022, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2021: 7/10

Every Escalade ESV comes standard with front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, rear pedestrian detection, safety seat alert, lane-keep assist, and forward-collision assist.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
