| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Round Range |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | $41,505 | $41,505 – $45,467 |
| 2018 | $23,119 | $22,774 – $24,603 |

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to maintenance expectations and model-year condition than to the basic appeal of the car itself, so a careful pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile.
What should I look for when buying a used Audi S4?
Across all model years, at 69% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |

| 2023 | 84.2% |

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.
What Audi S4 do most buyers choose?
The Audi S4 years with the most listings are 2019, 2018, and 2022.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |

| 2018 | 137 | 35% |
| 2022 | 133 | 34.6% |
| 2020 | 130 | 37.7% |
| 2023 | 114 | 35.1% |
| 2024 | 90 | 33.3% |
Higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right trim, mileage, and price. They also usually make it easier to shop for a deal without narrowing your search too much.
What is the Audi S4's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | $41,505 | −8.65% |
| 2018 | $23,119 | −6.04% |
Used Audi S4 prices are moving lower in the years shown here, which can work in your favor if you're shopping for value. The declines are meaningful, especially for the newer model year, and they suggest you may find better pricing now than you would have a year ago. The 2018 and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Audi S4 now?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2023 model is at −8.65% versus a year ago, and the 2018 model is at −6.04%.
- Deal availability: The 2023 model has 35.1% good and great deals, and the 2018 model has 35%.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Audi S4 stands out as a compact luxury sport sedan that blends strong performance with everyday usability. It uses a 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged V6 rated at 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. Audi says that setup helps the S4 reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, and the car also rides smoothly for a performance sedan. It is not the most athletic handler in its class, but it still delivers plenty of thrust and an all-around good driving experience.
The 2019 model also brings a well-equipped cabin and useful technology. Audi’s Virtual Cockpit is part of the package, and the base Premium trim added for 2019 still included Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, low-speed forward-collision warning, and emergency braking. That makes the S4 appealing to buyers who want a performance car that does not feel stripped down. At the same time, adaptive cruise control was still extra on this model year, so not every used example will have the same equipment level.
As a used buy, the 2019 Audi S4 has a lot going for it, but it is not without caveats. Audi’s reliability reputation is only average, and the brand typically requires more maintenance than rival makes. The S4 also depreciates quickly, which can make it a better value on the used market than it was new. For shoppers who want a quick, refined sedan with standard all-wheel drive and a strong feature set, it is an appealing choice, provided they are comfortable with the ownership costs that can come with an Audi.
