Used 2025 Hyundai Sonata for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2025 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Prices have softened 7.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,137 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Hyundai Sonata earns a 4/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating, which puts it in strong territory for used-car shoppers. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The Sonata is presented as a midsize sedan that blends value, safety, and personality, and it is described as a safe family car with standout value and safety ratings. The N Line trim adds emotional appeal if you want something more engaging, and the car is framed as a rare affordable sports sedan with a level of horsepower that is hard to find at this price.

The trade-offs are clear: the gas models are not very fuel-efficient, and the N Line’s stronger performance comes with a penalty at the gas pump. The design may also be polarizing, and all-wheel drive availability is limited.

Even so, 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a strong-value example.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sonata is described as a well-rounded, value-focused midsize sedan, and the expert review emphasizes that it remains competitive after its refresh and safety upgrades. It also comes with a generous powertrain warranty, five years of complimentary roadside assistance with no mileage limit, and three years or 36,000 miles of free scheduled service.

That maintenance coverage is a meaningful ownership perk if you plan to keep the car for a while. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that fuel costs can stay elevated if you choose a gas model, especially the N Line.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on overall condition, service records, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, and N Line. The base setup is more straightforward, while the higher trims add more equipment and the N Line brings the sportier character, stronger performance, and extra visual and driving appeal.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower, while the N Line uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 290 hp and 311 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid is the efficiency standout, and the gas models are not especially fuel-efficient.
• Safety package: Every 2025 Sonata has SmartSense, including forward collision warning with intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Highway Driving Assist is standard on the N Line, and the Hybrid Limited adds more advanced parking and camera tech.
• Infotainment: All models have a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and SEL Convenience and above add a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the SEL Convenience adds navigation, wireless charging, and digital key tech.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid can return an EPA-estimated 47 mpg in combined driving, while the N Line is rated at 27 mpg combined and was observed at 22.4 mpg on the test loop.

Which 2025 Hyundai Sonata trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Sonata is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, and N Line.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the simplest path into the Sonata lineup if you want the core sedan experience and strong value without paying for extra equipment.
• SEL: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of price and features, since it builds on the standard setup without jumping too far up the ladder.
• SEL Convenience: This is the best-value upgrade if you want the more premium tech experience, including the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, navigation, wireless charging, and digital key technology.
• N Line: Choose this if you want the most engaging Sonata, since it adds the turbocharged 290-hp engine, sport-tuned hardware, and extra performance character.

Every 2025 Sonata has standard SmartSense, so you get a broad safety package no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,131, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $22,131 sits slightly below last year's $23,965.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean a future seller has less pricing power than before. If you buy at the right number now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

The Sonata’s strong value proposition and broad appeal should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Sonata safe?

The 2025 Sonata earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS, and it earns five-star ratings in nearly every NHTSA assessment, including rollover resistance. The only NHTSA evaluation resulting in a four-star rating was the driver’s side protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2025 Sonata has standard SmartSense, Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite. The highlights include forward collision warning with intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Highway Driving Assist is standard on the N Line, pairing adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist. The Hybrid Limited adds a surround-view camera system, Blind Spot View Monitor, added parking assistance features, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model’s safety improvements helped it earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and current-market pricing, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and focus on the cleanest, best-priced listings, but the 2025’s safety upgrade and softer pricing make it the more compelling buy.
