The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is described as a relaxing, well-equipped cruiser with good reliability and safety rankings. Its broad feature set and updated design help it feel modern and well thought out for everyday use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection if the car has any signs of prior damage or inconsistent maintenance. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a clean record does not replace a careful look at wear, repairs, and how the car has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

It looks like a buyer’s market for this Sonata, with meaningful inventory and a healthy share of discounted listings.

• Deal availability: 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,718 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,971, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $21,975 sits slightly below last year's $24,255.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your future resale value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well you maintain the car.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $22,233, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $21,975 average.
• It adds rear-seat air vents and improved crash-test ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with a large pool of listings and solid accident-free inventory. If you’re willing to pay a bit more for the newer model’s added safety and comfort updates, the 2025 is the better secondary path.
