How much does the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty cost?

Prices have softened 15.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,507 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare trims and equipment.

Is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty a good car?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty earns an expert rating of 7.3/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

The data points to a truck that gives you serious capability and a wide range of configurations, with the added benefit of luxury, comfort, and technology in higher trims. That makes it a strong fit if you need maximum towing strength but still want a truck that can be tailored to work duty or more upscale use.

The main trade-offs are that the price climbs quickly with options and many safety features are not standard. That means you may need to move up the lineup to get the equipment you want.

With 33.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a reasonable amount of market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty reliable?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty is presented as a heavy-duty truck built around serious capability, with a broad range of configurations and powertrain choices that support work-focused ownership. The expert summary also emphasizes that it is a versatile and capable workhorse, which is the kind of setup you want if you plan to use the truck for towing and hauling rather than light-duty commuting.

The performance information reinforces that theme: you get multiple engine choices, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and towing capacity that rises to 23,000 pounds when properly equipped. That kind of hardware suggests the truck is engineered for demanding use, and the available towing tech helps make that work easier.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a truck that can be expensive once you start adding equipment, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic capability and more about how much maintenance and repair exposure can grow if you buy a heavily optioned example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect any truck carefully, especially if it has been used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Pay close attention to wear on the suspension, tires, brakes, bed, hitch area, and interior controls, since heavy-duty trucks often see harder use than their mileage alone suggests.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans work-focused and luxury-oriented versions, and the base trim starts with analog gauges and an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims bring a 12-inch infotainment screen and a 12-inch digital instrument panel. The more upscale trims also add much richer materials and more comfort-focused equipment.
• Powertrain: You can choose from four powertrain options, including a 6.8-liter V8 gas engine, a 7.3-liter gasoline V8, and two diesel options. The high-output diesel produces 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, while the base gasoline V8 is rated at 405 hp and 445 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes trailer sway damping and an integrated trailer brake controller. Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking is standard on the XLT trim, while the Lariat adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and rain-sensing wipers. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display are standard on the King Ranch trim and above.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument panel, while lower trims start with an 8-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard and wireless throughout the lineup, and the wireless charging pad is reserved for higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck averaged around 15 mpg in mixed driving, though heavy-duty trucks are exempt from official fuel economy estimates.

Which 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the F-250 lineup and do not need the richer comfort and tech features found higher up.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, giving you a meaningful safety upgrade without jumping all the way to the luxury-oriented models.
• Lariat: This is the smart step-up if you want a better balance of equipment and everyday usability, since it adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and rain-sensing wipers.
• King Ranch: This trim is the one to target if you want more comfort and convenience, since adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display become standard here.
• Platinum: This is the luxury pick, with the richest materials, the most upscale presentation, and the most premium-feeling cabin in the lineup.

Safety equipment expands as you move up the range, so if you want the most complete driver-assistance setup, you should look beyond the base trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what equipment you want.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,507 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $63,458, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $63,458 sits slightly below last year's $75,243.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more truck for the money today. If you plan to sell later, though, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, mileage, condition, and how hard the truck has been used.

Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than neglected work trucks. The biggest resale risk is overpaying for a highly optioned truck now and then facing a narrower pool of future buyers.

Is the 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty safe?

The 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty does not have crash-test results from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard trailer sway damping and the integrated trailer brake controller help with towing stability, but many safety features are limited to the option list and higher trim levels. Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking is standard on the XLT, while the Lariat adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and rain-sensing wipers.

Adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display are standard on the King Ranch trim and above. The main caveat is that the truck’s elevated ride height can make it more prone to rollovers, and Blue Cruise is not offered on Super Duty trucks.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.66% compared with last year.
• The 2025 F-250 is a versatile and capable workhorse that can haul impressive loads while also delivering an abundance of luxury, comfort, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty truck with standout towing ability and a broad range of configurations, the 2025 F-250 is the right direction to focus on. If you are more price-sensitive, you should still shop carefully for a lower-mileage, well-equipped example, since the market gives you enough inventory to compare options without rushing.
