Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a 7.8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It is designed primarily with off-road enthusiasts in mind, but it still aims to work as an all-around crossover. That balance shows up in its standard all-wheel drive, strong handling, and distinctive styling, while the trade-offs are clear: the touchscreen controls can be excessive and fuel economy is mediocre. The Bronco Sport also stands out for buyers who want a compact crossover with a more rugged identity than most rivals.

With 33.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a competitive example if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is presented as a well-rounded compact crossover with a strong feature set and competitive warranty coverage. Its standard all-wheel drive, off-road-oriented hardware, and updated tech package suggest a vehicle built for active use, while the expert review also emphasizes that it remains composed, comfortable, and quiet on the road.

The performance setup includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine on most trims, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder on Badlands models, plus an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. That gives you a clear split between everyday use and more serious off-road capability. Ford’s warranty coverage is also competitive for the segment, which helps support ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Bronco Sport’s more specialized off-road hardware and tech-heavy cabin can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has been used on trails or fitted with off-road packages. Pay close attention to the condition of the tires, underbody protection, suspension components, and any signs that the vehicle has seen hard use. It is also worth checking that the touchscreen-based controls and driver-assistance features work properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Bronco Sport’s styling and off-road hardware vary by trim, with the newly available off-road packages adding modular steel bumpers, accessory mounting points, cast D-rings, a removable nudge bar, and underbody protection. The base setup is less specialized, so you should compare equipment carefully if you want the rugged features rather than just the look.
• Powertrain: Most trim levels use a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, while Badlands models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 hp and 280 lb-ft. All models use an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and the torque-vectoring rear-drive unit is part of the off-road story.
• Safety package: Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.
• Infotainment: For 2025, the Bronco Sport gets a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Ford Sync 4. The larger screen and digital cluster are standard, and the system also supports an available 360-degree camera.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 25 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while the 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 5 trim levels: Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage, Free Wheeling.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the Bronco Sport’s core personality without paying for the more specialized hardware. It also serves as the starting point for the Black Diamond off-road package, which adds meaningful trail-focused equipment.
• Outer Banks: This trim makes sense if you want a more upscale feel and are interested in the available Sasquatch Package. It adds access to more off-road capability than the base setup while keeping the Bronco Sport’s everyday usability intact.
• Badlands: This is the one to choose if you want the most serious off-road capability. It gets the stronger 2.0-liter engine, and with the Sasquatch Package it adds Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, an upgraded cooling fan, and an auxiliary oil cooler.
• Heritage: This is the style-focused choice if you want a more distinctive look rather than the most capability. It is part of the lineup for shoppers who care about appearance and character.
• Free Wheeling: This is another design-led trim for buyers who want personality and visual flair more than maximum trail hardware.

Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on the Outer Banks and standard on the Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best examples can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,496 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,087, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?

The current average of $28,087 sits slightly below last year's $32,822.

That price movement suggests the Bronco Sport has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers. If you buy at today’s average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than higher-mileage vehicles with signs of hard use.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport safe?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash-test ratings and a four-star rollover crash-test rating. The IIHS had only released partial safety ratings at press time, including top “Good” scores in the small overlap front test, original moderate overlap front test, and original side-impact test, plus an “Acceptable” rating in the updated side-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 safety suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on the Outer Banks and standard on the Badlands.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.43% compared with last year.
• Ford’s 2025 updates add new option packages aimed at increasing off-road capability, along with tech, styling, and interior updates.

The bottom line: If you want the most current Bronco Sport with updated tech and expanded off-road packaging, the 2025 is the right target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 gives you the freshest mix of capability, equipment, and market softness.
