Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

It is built around affordability, comfort, and range, and it brings more than 300 miles of driving on a single charge. That makes it a practical fit if you want an EV that feels attainable rather than flashy.

The trade-offs are clear: it lacks typical EV performance and does not offer Apple CarPlay. Even so, its comfortable ride, useful cargo space, and strong value proposition make it appealing if you prioritize everyday usability over excitement.

With 38.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is presented as a comfortable, practical EV with a quiet cabin and a straightforward ownership experience. Its standard equipment is described as dependable and unintrusive, and the powertrain is built around a single-motor front-drive setup with an available dual-motor AWD option.

The performance notes point to a smooth brake pedal, one-pedal driving, and a ride that stays composed over rough pavement. That combination suggests a vehicle that should feel easy to live with day to day.

The cost-effectiveness content also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging system have been cared for properly, since EV ownership depends heavily on battery health over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple listings. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the vehicle has been used in a way that matches your driving needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level LT is the economical choice, and it does not feel stripped out. The RS adds sportier styling, larger wheels, blacked-out exterior elements, red interior accents, and some added convenience and safety packages.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a single 220-horsepower electric motor with front-wheel drive. An available dual-motor AWD setup adds rear-wheel drive and increases output to 300 hp.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with steering intervention, automatic high beams, and GM’s safety alert seat. Optional Active Safety Package 2 adds a surround-view camera system with rear pedestrian alerts, while Active Safety Package 3 adds a semi-automated parking system and Super Cruise.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in and wireless charging availability. It does not offer Apple CarPlay.
• Range & charging: The front-drive version is estimated at up to 319 miles of range, while the AWD version is estimated at 307 miles. It uses an 85-kWh battery pack, charges with an 11.5 kW AC charger, and supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, confirm normal home and DC fast-charging habits, and review how much of the battery warranty remains. You want evidence that the pack has been treated consistently and has not been exposed to unusual charging patterns or neglect.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is offered in 2 trim levels: LT and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice if you want the most affordable path into the Equinox EV without giving up the core strengths of the model. You still get the comfortable ride, strong range, and useful everyday equipment that make this EV appealing.
• RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look and the added convenience and safety content that come with the higher-spec trim. It is the better pick if styling and extra features matter more to you than keeping the price as low as possible.

The safety-package trims are optional, so you should factor in Active Safety Package 2 or 3 if you want the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,919 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,224, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV's resale value?

The current average of $26,893 sits slightly below last year's $28,574.

That decline suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, which can work against future resale if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

For a future seller, the key is to buy below market and keep the vehicle in strong condition. A well-kept example with clean history and healthy battery performance should hold up better than one that shows heavy use or charging-related wear.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.88% compared with last year.
• It emphasizes affordability and range, with more than 300 miles of driving on a single charge.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,908, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $26,893 average.
• It is a ground-up EV with a comfortable character and strong value focus.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the stronger current-market mix of price, inventory, and value. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the better budget-minded alternative.
