Used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata for Sale nearSimi Valley, CA

How much does the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata cost?

Prices have softened 3.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 528 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata a good car?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata earns a 7.3/10 expert rating, and Mazda’s updates this year sharpen the car’s already focused formula with new steering, a revised limited-slip rear differential, and a DSC-Track setting.

The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

It is best suited to you if you want a lightweight, rear-drive roadster that prioritizes driving enjoyment over practicality. The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, and it does not offer much interior storage space or cargo space.

With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata reliable?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is presented as a focused, mechanically simple roadster, and Mazda’s updates this year center on steering, stability, and cabin refinement rather than complexity.

Its performance hardware is straightforward: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual standard, with an automatic available only on Grand Touring. The revised steering and asymmetric limited-slip rear differential are aimed at making the car feel more secure and stable when you drive it hard.

Mazda also adds a practical maintenance perk in the cost-effectiveness notes: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a small, low-slung sports car can be less forgiving if it has been driven hard or neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title does not tell you how the car was driven or maintained. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, tires, brakes, and convertible-top operation, and pay close attention to cabin wear and any signs of hard use. Since this is a lightweight sports car, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport versions come only in black or red paint colors with black 16-inch wheels and a black cloth interior, while Club trim adds 17-inch wheels and more paint choices. Grand Touring brings premium Nappa leather, a tan interior option, and more upscale cabin materials.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, and the six-speed manual is standard. The automatic is available only with Grand Touring.
• Safety package: Every model includes low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds adaptive front lighting, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition, while adaptive cruise control is standard only with the automatic.
• Infotainment: The Miata uses an 8.8-inch Mazda Connect display with touchscreen Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless Apple CarPlay is included on Club and Grand Touring, and Alexa is part of the system.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is rated at 29 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 24.1 mpg in observed driving.

Which 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it keeps the Miata’s core formula intact with the standard manual transmission, rear-drive layout, and lightweight roadster character. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the car and do not need the extra equipment found higher up.
• Club: This is the best-value trim if you want the biggest jump in driving enjoyment, because it adds 17-inch wheels and is the trim tied to the more performance-focused hardware in the test-drive data. It is the one to target if you care most about the Miata’s sharper, more playful side.
• Grand Touring: This is the trim to choose if you want the most comfort and convenience, including premium Nappa leather, the tan interior option, and the added safety and tech features. It also unlocks the automatic transmission.

Grand Touring adds the most safety equipment, while the automatic transmission brings adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 528 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,403, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata's resale value?

The current average of $30,403 sits slightly below last year's $31,365.

That softer pricing suggests the Miata has become a bit easier to buy than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because the Miata is a niche sports car with strong enthusiast appeal, clean examples should hold up better than neglected ones. If you keep mileage reasonable and preserve the car well, you give yourself the best chance at a stronger resale outcome.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata safe?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata does not have crash-test ratings listed here.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every 2024 MX-5 Miata with low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds adaptive front lighting, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition, while adaptive cruise control is standard only with the automatic transmission.

The main caveat is the car’s lightweight, low-slung design, which means it offers less crash protection than larger vehicles.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.07% compared with last year.
• This year adds sharper steering, a revised differential, and updated infotainment.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,866, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,403 average.
• It is a pure, lightweight roadster focused on driving enjoyment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It stays true to the Miata formula with a rear-drive, two-seat convertible layout.
• It emphasizes precise handling and top-down driving fun.

The bottom line: If you want the most updated version of the Miata’s driving feel and tech, the 2024 is the better target. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play.
