How much does the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 10.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,566 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating and 8.17/10 expert rating point to a strong overall package. The 2024 Santa Fe is a fully redesigned midsize SUV with a bold, blocky look, a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a “terrace” approach to passenger and cargo space. It also brings multiple powertrain options and impressive technology, which broadens its appeal if you want a modern family SUV with flexibility.

The trade-offs are real, though: the third row is cramped, and performance is described as pedestrian. Top trims can also get expensive, so the value equation depends on how much equipment you want.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

With 39.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The Santa Fe’s reliability case is helped by its broad standard equipment, its emphasis on practical family use, and Hyundai’s generally strong reputation in this area. The expert notes also point to a well-rounded package rather than a complicated one, which can be a plus for long-term ownership.

The performance notes describe the Santa Fe as smooth and mostly stable, with few misses in acceleration, throttle response, or shifting. That said, body roll is noticeable through turns, so the driving experience is more composed than sporty.

Hyundai also includes a first-of-its-kind driver-monitoring system across the lineup, which adds another layer of confidence for daily use. If you buy used, the main long-term risk is that higher-trim complexity can raise repair and ownership costs if features age poorly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches the trim and equipment you want. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you’re considering a higher-trim model, since the Santa Fe’s feature set expands quickly as you move up the range. Pay close attention to interior condition, third-row usability, and whether the technology and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with a strong safety and tech foundation, while the XRT adds dark exterior treatment and a more rugged look. Limited and Calligraphy versions add more premium touches, but the base trim leaves out some of the richer cabin and convenience features.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, rated at 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional, and the XRT gets all-wheel drive standard; a hybrid powertrain is also offered later in the model year.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and turn-signal mirrors.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a curved panoramic display on higher trims, while SE and SEL use a simpler 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, and the system also includes a 12-speaker Bose stereo, dynamic voice recognition, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The base FWD model is rated at 20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. AWD drops that to 20/28/23, and the XRT is rated at 19/26/22. The hybrid is rated at 36 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined with FWD, or 35/34/34 with AWD.

Which 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value starting point, and it already brings a long list of standard safety features plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want the lowest entry price and can live without the richer cabin upgrades, this is the trim to start with.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system that senses occupants.
• XRT: This is the choice if you want the more rugged look and the soft-off-road setup. It adds dark chrome and black cladding, all-wheel drive standard, off-road modes, and Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system.
• Limited: This trim is for you if you want a more premium family SUV. It adds a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, and a sanitizing compartment in the glovebox.
• Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning top trim, with a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems. It’s the most upscale version, but it also pushes the price into expensive territory.

The SEL is the best balance of equipment and price, while the Limited makes sense if you want the strongest mix of convenience and premium features. The XRT is the trim to choose if you want the more adventurous styling and capability.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,566 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,476, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $30,476 sits slightly below last year's $33,929.

That price movement suggests the Santa Fe has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If the market continues to favor shoppers, sellers may need to stay competitive on pricing, especially for higher-trim examples. Well-kept, accident-free vehicles should hold up better than average because buyers are still responding to the model’s redesign and feature content.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai makes safety a major part of the Santa Fe’s appeal, and most advanced driver-assistance features come standard. The base SE includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals.

The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system, while the Limited brings a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, and remote automatic parking. The Calligraphy adds a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

One caveat is that the traffic-sign recognition system occasionally misread Tennessee state route signs as speed limit signs during testing.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign adds a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a more distinctive, premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,157, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,476 average.
• It emphasizes value, standard safety, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,871, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $30,476 average.
• It builds on the bold redesign with more interior space and added family-friendly features.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest styling, standard third-row seating, and a strong mix of tech and safety, the 2024 is the best all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play. If you want the latest version of the redesign and don’t mind paying more, the 2025 is worth a look.
