Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series a good car?

Yes — 5/5. The 2024 BMW 8 Series is positioned as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, tech-rich cabin. It is aimed at you if you want something sporty without giving up comfort, and its available rear passenger room adds to its long-distance appeal. The tradeoffs are expensive options, a poor turning circle, and high depreciation, so it fits best if you value driving character and premium feel over low running costs. With 37.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 BMW 8 Series is described as a polished, tech-rich luxury grand tourer with strong performance and a comfortable cabin. Its appeal centers on delivering both relaxed cruising and engaging road manners, which usually matters most if you plan to keep and enjoy the car rather than simply minimize ownership complexity. High depreciation is the main long-term ownership risk for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin electronics, ride quality, and any signs of costly option-related wear. Because this model can carry expensive options, condition and equipment verification matter as much as mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 299 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $66,278, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $66,577 sits slightly below last year's $73,267.

That price movement suggests the market has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right entry point. If you shop carefully now, you may reduce the amount of value lost during your ownership period. The model’s premium positioning can still support demand, but depreciation remains an important factor to watch.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $58,948, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $66,577 average.
• It offers multiple body styles, which broadens its appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory quality, and satisfaction, the 2024 is the better primary choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in strong condition and with the body style you want.
