The result is an output of 791 horsepower and an incredible 1,055 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to this configuration, power is routed to all four wheels. A nine-speed automatic transmission helps manage power delivery and performs silky-smooth shifts. This setup is good for a zero-to-60-mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph. Keep in mind, the Mercedes S 63 E delivers all this performance, and it’s still a plug-in hybrid. Thanks to its 10.5-kWh battery pack, the S 63 E Performance has an all-electric range of 17 miles on a full charge. It also has an onboard charger that can replenish the battery pack while running on the V8 engine. The S 63 E Performance features multiple drive modes to govern the steering, braking, powertrain, and handling dynamics for the standard adaptive suspension system. ## Interior The S 63 E Performance comes standard with Nappa leather upholstery, multi-contour seats, an AMG performance steering wheel, a 64-color ambient cabin lighting system, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, push-button start, and remote start. Due to its battery pack, the typically large S-Class trunk space shrinks to just 11 cubic feet in this PHEV. Still, it comes with a hands-free power trunk lid. ## Technology The Mercedes S-Class benefits from the MBUX infotainment system. It consists of a large 12.8-inch touchscreen and a powerful voice control system, which responds to prompts such as “ Hey, Mercedes…” and can understand complex commands. The fully digital instrument panel and central touchscreen can also be manipulated by touch-sensitive directional pads on the steering wheel. The S-Class comes standard with a 15-speaker stereo system and is also available with an astounding 30-speaker premium sound system. ## Safety The 2024 S-Class comes equipped with a long list of standard driver-assistance features, including forward automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
