Summary
With 87 currently listed for sale near Atlanta, GA and an average price of $42,124.00, 37.9% of 2023 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Toyota Sienna 4.11 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Toyota Sienna stands out in the minivan class because it uses a standard hybrid engine. That alone gives it a different identity from many family haulers, and it helps explain why the Sienna is often appealing to shoppers who want practicality without giving up fuel efficiency. It is also described as spacious, which fits the minivan mission well, and its standard advanced safety features add to its family-friendly appeal.
At the same time, the 2023 Toyota Sienna is not without compromises. The second-row seats aren’t removable, which limits some of the flexibility buyers may expect from a minivan. It is also described as having sluggish acceleration and an irritating transmission, so drivers looking for quick responses may find it less satisfying. Even so, for buyers who prioritize efficiency, roominess, and safety, the Sienna offers a compelling mix of strengths.

Awesome ride, comfort and great mpg. Good looking too. However, backup camera resolution can be improved. Spare tire should come as standard in a minivan.

2023 Sienna XLE 7 passenger AWD My Grandchildrens Favorite! It has lots of room..they can slide the seats back and have living room comfort. They like the rear USB charging ports, rear AC/heat controls, and they can always fit friends back there with them, and their gear. I like it because its comfortable, safe, and gets 35 miles per gallon. The All Wheel Drive is best..most of those available are Front wheel drive. In recent snowstorms, I saw many other vehicles slid off the road, but I never spun a wheel with the AWD. Fantastic resale value, if I ever want to sell it, such as if my needs change. The hybrid is quiet, smooth, and, actually has more horsepower than the older Sienna V6, because the battery assists with extra power when in sport mode. Now, for what I dont like: Irritating Apple car play, when you plug the maps in, you have to wait, and wait, for the directions to appear. Too slow. Apparently, there is no way to upgrade to Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which apparenly solves that problem. Its unclear why Toyota cant/wont allow the software upgrade to make the Apple Car play faster and not frustrating. The back part of the van is difficult to enter, especially for large adults with knee problems. Young adults, under 200 pounds wont have a problem. We carry a step stool so my wife can enter the rear of the van when desired. I do agree, the 3rd seat, when folded down, kind of bounces, unless you set something on it like groceries, suitcases, cargo mat, etc, but that has never caused us any problem. While I have read of unable to start problems because the battery ran down mostly due to defective foot activated door sensors in the 2022 model, I have not had the problem in the 2023 Sienna. For that reason, I recommend avoiding the 2022 Sienna, and go with 2023. I have no desire to go out to my van, and then not be able to start it because the battery is dead, and for that to happen multiple times. I have never had a dead battery in my 2023. It works great every time, except for the issues I mentioned, above. Lastly, my Sienna came with only one key, this is as convient as a broken leg, and they take forever to get me the promised new key...which has never arrived.

How much does the 2023 Toyota Sienna cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $42,451 |
| Year-Round Low | $40,924.30 |
| Year-Round High | $43,121.50 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $43,121 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −1.55% |
Prices have softened 1.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,391 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $40,924.30, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Generally — the 2023 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.11/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its fuel efficiency, spaciousness, and comfort, and the hybrid setup is a major draw for families who want practicality without giving up mileage. The expert review also points to its strong value proposition and family-friendly safety equipment.
The trade-offs are clear: acceleration is sluggish, the transmission can be irritating, and the second row isn’t as flexible as some shoppers may expect. Even so, the Sienna’s roomy layout and efficiency-focused mission make it a strong fit if you want a minivan that leans into everyday usefulness rather than driving excitement.
With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 4.11/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, trouble-free, and well suited to long-term family use, especially when you value efficiency and comfort. The expert review also describes the technology as reliable, which supports the sense that the Sienna is built for steady everyday ownership.
Toyota’s hybrid setup and family-hauler focus reinforce that impression, and the standard safety equipment adds confidence for long-term use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about whether the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history match its strong reputation.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a full ownership and service record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, seat functionality, and how the vehicle drives in everyday traffic. Since this is a family minivan, condition matters most in the areas you’ll use constantly: seating, cargo access, and cabin equipment.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base trim leaves out some convenience features, while higher trims add more family-friendly equipment such as power-sliding doors, a power liftgate, and upgraded interior materials.
- Powertrain: Every model uses a hybrid setup with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors, and all-wheel-drive versions add a rear electric motor.
- Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.
- Infotainment: The system uses a 9-inch touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless connectivity is not mentioned, and the interface relies on an older Toyota layout.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates AWD models at 35 mpg city, 36 highway, and 35 combined, while FWD models are rated at 36 mpg across the board.
Which 2023 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2023 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum, and 25th Anniversary Special Edition.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Sienna’s hybrid efficiency and core family-hauler strengths at the lowest price.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate.
- XSE: Choose this if you want a sportier look and, on FWD versions, 20-inch wheels.
- Limited: This is the step-up choice if you want a more upscale cabin and more premium-feeling equipment.
- 25th Anniversary Special Edition: Pick this if you want a commemorative trim positioned just below Limited in price.
- Platinum: This is the top trim, aimed at shoppers who want the most upscale presentation and the highest level of equipment.
The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, so your trim decision mostly comes down to convenience features, cabin upgrades, and how much you want to spend.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,391 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.55% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 85.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $40,924.30, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $42,451 sits slightly below last year's $43,121.
That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, the current trend implies you may not see rapid appreciation, but the Sienna’s strong family appeal and efficiency should help support demand.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.11/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna safe?
It earns five-star ratings in crash tests facilitated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Sienna comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. That standard suite is especially valuable in a family vehicle, and it helps explain the strong safety reputation.
One caveat is that the 2023 model has not yet been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, even though the mechanically identical 2022 Sienna earned a Top Safety Pick+ designation. That means you should still weigh the full safety picture, especially if you’re comparing it with rivals that have current IIHS results.
Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.55% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.11/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It combines hybrid efficiency with standard safety features and family-friendly practicality.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $37,483, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $42,451 average.
- It carries over the redesigned hybrid formula and adds a Woodland trim for adventurous buyers.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $45,213, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $42,451 average.
- It keeps the hybrid focus while leaning into comfort, value, and everyday usefulness.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and family-friendly features, the 2023 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 can save you money while keeping the same core hybrid appeal. If you want a newer model-year alternative and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path.
