How much does the 2023 Subaru Legacy cost?

Is the 2023 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — 4.67/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2023 Legacy stands out because it combines standard all-wheel drive with a mid-cycle refresh that brings a revised front fascia, a larger grille, sharper headlights, and safety system updates. It also fits buyers who want a midsize sedan with a quieter, more spacious cabin, a stiffer chassis, better ride quality, and a more modern look without moving away from the Legacy’s familiar formula. The market shows 34.8% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Legacy is described as a practical sedan with standard all-wheel drive, a strong safety reputation, and a comfortable, well-rounded driving experience. Its quieter cabin, improved ride quality, and standard safety content all support the case for dependable everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary widely, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the car’s accident record and ownership background. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and exterior condition, since those areas can reveal how carefully the car was maintained. Focus on overall condition first, then compare mileage, service records, and pricing against similar listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru Legacy?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 894 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,179, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $22,179 sits slightly below last year's $24,095.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation matter more when the broader market is already trending downward.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2023 is the right pick if you want the refreshed look, standard all-wheel drive, and a strong mix of safety and comfort in the Legacy’s final-generation formula. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 stands out when you want a more modern version of the same practical sedan with solid market availability.
