Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,359, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,424 average.
• It offers a broad mix of innovation, safety, and mainstream appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of owner satisfaction, inventory quality, and pricing momentum, the 2023 is the better primary target. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the more price-sensitive path and may be worth a closer look.
