The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is an all-electric crossover with a striking design and a versatile cabin. The Ioniq 5 was introduced in 2022 as an all-new model, and it carries over into 2023 with minimal changes. The electric range for all-wheel-drive (AWD) models gets a boost from 256 miles to 266 miles. The Ioniq 5 provides up to 59.3 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seats in use, the Ioniq 5 provides 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space.

Trims for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 are SE, SEL, and Limited. Standard features on the SE trim include 19-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, LED head- and tail-lights, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and push-button start. The SE also comes with a fully digital instrument panel, as well as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Moving up to the SEL adds wireless device charging, a heated steering wheel, synthetic leather upholstery, and a hands-free power liftgate. The range-topping Limited trim adds a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and a Bose premium stereo system.

The Ioniq 5’s battery pairs to either a single motor at the rear wheels or to dual motors in the available AWD configuration. The SE Standard Range’s single motor makes 168 horsepower and can travel up to 220 miles. The non-Standard Range models make 228 horsepower and have a range of 303 miles. Dual-motor AWD models put out a combined 320 horsepower and can travel up to 266 miles.

Using a 240V Level 2 charger, the Ioniq 5 can be charged in 6 hours and 45 minutes. It also has DC fast charging, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 to 25 minutes. This fast-charging time depends on the power output of the charging station.

The Ioniq 5 comes equipped with a host of standard driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, rear parking sensors, driver drowsiness monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Available safety tech includes a 360-degree parking monitor, parking assist, front parking sensors, and a head-up display.

Base MSRP for the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is $41,450 for a Standard Range SE model. The SE trim with the upgraded range starts at $45,500. The SEL starts at $47,450 and the Limited starts at $52,600. The SE AWD model starts at $49,000. The AWD SEL starts at $50,950 and the range-topping AWD Limited starts at $56,500. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty for the battery and electric components.

Best EV car ever. I wish I could have the N variant of this car. But the standard AWD version is still very promising!Oct 01, 2024
