How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD cost?

Prices have softened 8.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,617 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a strong fit if you need serious towing and payload capability rather than carlike manners. It is built as a heavy-duty workhorse, and its appeal centers on broad configuration choices, modern trailering tech, and everyday utility in a full-size pickup package.

Chevrolet gives you regular, extended, and crew cab body styles, plus rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and an available dual-rear-wheel setup for added stability. The truck also brings towing-focused equipment such as an advanced trailering app, detailed camera views, a touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 32.4% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a capable heavy-duty truck with a straightforward mission: handle demanding jobs while still delivering the comfort and utility expected in a modern pickup. Its appeal is rooted in strong capability, broad configuration choices, and towing-focused equipment rather than luxury or refinement.

That said, you should think about long-term ownership as heavy-duty-truck ownership: the more you use it for hard work, the more important maintenance history and condition become. For used buyers, that means a careful inspection matters because wear can add up quickly on a truck built for serious hauling and towing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the truck closely for signs of hard use, especially if it was used for towing or hauling. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the truck’s equipment and body style match the kind of work you plan to do.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,617 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $51,680, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $51,680 sits slightly below last year's $56,686.

That price movement suggests the truck has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help if you are shopping now but may temper resale upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current market points to a truck that still holds meaningful value, but one where condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot when it is time to list it.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.83% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, broad configuration choices, and a market that is giving you some negotiating room, the 2023 is the primary year to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs any differences in availability or condition.
