Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the truck’s appeal centers on serious capability paired with a more modern, better-equipped cabin. You get a standard gas V8, an available turbodiesel V8, a 10-speed automatic, and the choice of rear-wheel drive or available four-wheel drive with low range, so it fits buyers who need real work-truck strength without giving up everyday usability. The cabin and tech also help it feel current, with useful standard equipment and available larger screens and trailering aids. 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

The overview points to a truck built around proven heavy-duty hardware, with a standard gas V8, an available Duramax turbodiesel V8, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also emphasizes a broad set of trailering tools and available driver-assistance features, which can make ownership easier if you use the truck for towing or hauling. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity than about how hard the truck was worked, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a careful inspection of the truck’s body, cabin, and towing-related equipment. Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, pay close attention to signs of hard use, especially around the hitch area, mirrors, camera systems, and any visible wear that suggests frequent towing. A clean report is a good start, but overall condition should still guide your final decision.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,373 sits slightly below last year's $49,541.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the key is to buy a well-kept truck with desirable equipment and avoid overpaying today, since resale value is easier to preserve when your starting point is reasonable. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,195, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,373 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter primary choice because it combines strong capability with a lower average price and plenty of inventory. If you care more about the refreshed styling and off-road trim, the 2024 is the better secondary path, but you should expect to pay more for it.
