## What’s New for the 2023 BMW X5 The X5 carries over into 2023 with minimal changes, in anticipation of a 2024 redesign. The X5 M50i features a twin-turbocharged V8 that generates 523 horsepower. The most efficient version of the X5 is the xDrive45e plug-in, which returns an EPA-estimated 50 mpg-equivalent. When the electric power is exhausted, the xDrive45e returns a 20 combined mpg. The sDrive40i returns 21 mpg city, 26 highway, 23 combined.
