Is the 2022 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2022 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that blends Scandinavian design, strong safety credentials, and a cabin that puts comfort first. It comes from a modern platform shared with several larger Volvo models, and that foundation helps give the car a more upscale, contemporary feel than older S60 generations.

For you, the appeal is in the standard equipment and everyday usability: even base models came with a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen. If you want a comfortable luxury sedan with a distinctive cabin and a strong safety story, this model fits that brief well. 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2022 Volvo S60’s strongest case is its safety-focused design and comfort-first character. Every S60 came standard with City Safety collision avoidance, and the model earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022.

That combination makes it appealing if you want a sedan that prioritizes protection and a calm driving experience. For long-term ownership, your main risk is less about the car’s mission and more about buying one that has been poorly maintained or has unresolved repair history, so condition and documentation matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if it appears clean in the listing. Put inspection priority on the cabin electronics, safety systems, and overall wear, since those are the areas where a premium sedan’s condition can matter most to your ownership experience. Focus on how the car presents in person, because a well-kept example is more likely to feel like the luxury sedan you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Volvo S60?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 257 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,976, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $23,636 sits slightly below last year's $26,248.

That decline suggests the market has moved in your favor if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well you maintain the car and how clean its history is. If you plan to sell later, a well-documented, accident-free example should hold up better than one with gaps in service or visible wear. For you, the best resale strategy is to buy the cleanest car you can find at a sensible price.

Should I buy a 2022 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want a comfortable, safety-focused luxury sedan and you can find one with clean history and the right equipment. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a look, but the 2022 gives you a good balance of value, inventory, and modern features.
