Used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cost?

Prices have softened 11.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,929 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used examples to compare.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.5/5 user-rated car with an expert score of 7.8/10. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is aimed at buyers who want a lot of Mercedes character for the money, and its redesign moves the nameplate upmarket with S-Class-inspired styling and a more premium cabin feel. In testing, it stood out for stylish design, great ride quality, and impressive technology.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the transmission can be irritating, and performance is described as sluggish, so it’s better suited to you if comfort, polish, and badge appeal matter more than quick responses. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

With 36.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is positioned as a premium compact sedan with a strong feature set, and its expert evaluation points to a well-rounded package rather than a bare-bones entry model. The powertrain uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and Mercedes says the electric motor can contribute short bursts of extra output, which supports smooth everyday driving when everything is working as intended.

Mercedes also includes a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and four-year, 50,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps with early ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s upscale tech and complex systems can make repairs and upkeep more expensive if prior maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not guarantee a clean individual car. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the transmission behavior, electronics, and any signs that the car has been used hard or poorly maintained.

Focus on condition details that matter most in a luxury sedan: interior wear, infotainment operation, and whether the driver-assistance features work as expected. If the car has optional equipment, make sure it actually includes the features you want before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LED headlights and taillights are standard on all trim levels, but the base C300 Premium still starts with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 11.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and MBTex synthetic leather upholstery. Higher trims add more luxury and convenience, including a Burmester 3D surround-sound system on the mid-tier model and a head-up display plus augmented-reality navigation on the top trim.
• Powertrain: The C300 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower, 295 pound-feet of torque, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Mercedes also confirmed a more powerful AMG C43 version with 402 hp, but it is a separate performance model.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound. Optional features include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, dashcam, park assist, and two levels of Distronic adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Even the base model gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The MBUX system uses a “Zero Layer” layout, and the top trim adds augmented-reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The C300 is rated at 29 mpg combined, 25 mpg city, and 35 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, or 27 mpg combined, 27 mpg city, and 33 mpg highway with all-wheel drive. In testing, the AWD version averaged close to 25 mpg.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the best-value starting point if you want the core C-Class experience without stretching for extras. You still get the 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 11.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, and the standard safety suite.
• Exclusive: This trim is the middle ground if you want more luxury without going all the way to the top. It builds on the base setup and is the better choice if you want a more upscale feel while staying below the most expensive version.
• Pinnacle: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped C-Class. It adds the head-up display and augmented-reality navigation, making it the right pick if you value the most advanced tech features in the lineup.

The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,929 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,681, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $29,681 sits slightly below last year's $33,361. That tells you the market has moved in a buyer-friendly direction, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon.

For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect more competition from similarly priced used examples. A well-kept car with desirable equipment and clean history should still stand out, but you may need to price it competitively to move it quickly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class safe?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class does get an array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)—many of them as standard equipment. It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound, which emits a “pink noise” to help the ears shut out loud noises. Optional features include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, dashcam, park assist, and two levels of Distronic adaptive cruise control.

The 2022 model did not have crash-test ratings available at the time of publication, so you should lean more heavily on its standard safety equipment and any optional driver-assistance features on the specific car you’re considering. One caveat is that the basic version of Distronic includes stop-and-go capability, but it still falls short of hands-free systems offered by some rivals.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned model moves the C-Class upmarket with S-Class-inspired styling, a premium-feeling cabin, and strong standard tech.

The bottom line: The 2022 C-Class makes the most sense if you want the redesigned look, upscale presentation, and a strong mix of comfort and technology. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you may want to compare it carefully against older or newer examples, but the 2022 is a compelling choice when you want the newer design and a softer used-market price.
