What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of heavy-duty use, especially if the truck was used for towing or hauling. A careful test drive and a close look at the truck’s body, bed, and interior condition can help you avoid examples that were pushed hard.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $45,901, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $48,489 average.
• It blends heavy-duty capability with everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, deal availability, and price softness, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your budget is tighter and you still want Silverado 3500HD capability, the 2021 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative.
