Summary
With 812 currently listed for sale and an average price of $180,071, 32.6% of 2021 Porsche 911 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Porsche 911 4.9 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2021 Porsche 911 stands out because it blends the model’s classic rear-engine layout and iconic shape with the kind of performance and technology that make it usable every day. In this generation, the 911’s styling is still unmistakable, but the car is slightly larger than before and gets more intricate lighting details, including taillights integrated into a narrow strip across the rear deck. The result is a sports car that remains instantly recognizable while feeling thoroughly modern.
For 2021, the lineup centers on the Carrera family and expands beyond the base car to include all-wheel-drive versions, the Carrera S and 4S, and the Targa variants. The base Carrera uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer six with 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automated dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. Buyers looking for more punch can step up to the Carrera S and 4S, which raise output to 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque and are also eligible for a seven-speed manual transmission. That mix of power, transmission choice, and body styles is a big part of what makes the 2021 911 appealing.
It is not a perfect fit for everyone, though. The 911 is pricey new or used, and it offers limited passenger and cargo space. Still, owners consistently praise its fun-to-drive character, excellent performance, and daily usability, which helps explain why it has such a strong reputation as a sports car that can feel special without being impractical.

This 911 Turbo S was painted in Aventurine which is one of the rarest Porsche colors, and it was paired with a sumptuous truffle leather interior. The only option missing was the front end lift. There is no comparison to the 911 Turbo S.

Great car. Drove it cross country. I was warned that it would be a rough ride and noisy. It has the PASM sport suspension and Sport exhaust. The ride was a smooth as could be and the exhaust was not too loud at all. Even my wife enjoyed the ride and agreed it was very comfortable and pleasant.

Outstanding. There are so many words that have already been written to describe the singular driving experience of the Porsche 911, but none that can actually convey that experience. Having bought my first Porsche 911, I finally get it. What a vehicle.

How much does the 2021 Porsche 911 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $179,817 |
| Year-Round Low | $167,912 |
| Year-Round High | $184,539 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $182,101 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −1.25% |

There are 799 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare trims, mileage, and condition.
Is the 2021 Porsche 911 a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Porsche 911 earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its fun-to-drive nature, excellent performance, and daily usability, and many describe it as the perfect sports car. That lines up well with its role as a sports car that still works for everyday driving, even if you want something special rather than purely practical. With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2021 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also emphasizes that the car feels dependable in daily use, with many drivers highlighting its trouble-free ownership experience and the confidence they have in it over the long term. That kind of praise matters most when you’re considering a used performance car, where consistency can be just as important as speed. For you, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s reputation and more about buying one that has been poorly maintained or heavily used.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and verify service records, even when the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage, aftermarket modifications, or signs of track use. Focus your condition check on wear items, interior condition, and any evidence that the car has been driven harder than average.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Porsche 911?
This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.
- Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 799 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.25% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 92.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $167,912, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $179,817 sits slightly below last year's $182,101.
That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy with less pressure today. For a future seller, it also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Because this model has strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal among enthusiasts, well-kept examples should continue to attract buyers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2021 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.25% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $127,923, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $179,817 average.
- It emphasizes classic driver engagement and manual-transmission appeal.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $217,583, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $179,817 average.
- It adds more refined comfort and premium cabin appeal.
The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around choice if you want strong owner satisfaction, solid inventory, and a softer price trend. If your priority is spending less, the 2020 is the better value path; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and can pay more, the 2022 is the upgrade path.
