Used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA for Sale nearLos Angeles, CA

How much does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA cost?

Prices have softened 11.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 648 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The GLA’s redesign gives you a more conventional small-SUV shape, compact dimensions that are easy to maneuver, and a package that covers the basics well. It also brings multiple powertrain options and strong tech, which help it feel more substantial than its size might suggest.

The trade-offs are that ride quality and handling are weak points, and cargo space is limited. If you want a small luxury SUV that prioritizes tech and easy city driving over polish and utility, it fits that use case better than buyers who want a more refined chassis or more room for gear.

Only 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLA’s redesign and compact-SUV packaging suggest a modern ownership experience, and the expert evaluation points to a vehicle that delivers the expected basics in a small luxury format. Its turbocharged powertrain is described as strong, and the tech suite is a clear highlight, which can help the car feel current over time.

At the same time, the expert assessment notes that the GLA lacks some of the refinement expected from other Mercedes models, and its ride quality and handling are weak points. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you can live with the car’s less polished driving character.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the suspension, cabin condition, and any signs that the car has been driven hard or neglected. Since the GLA’s ride quality and interior materials are not its strongest points, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing individual examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLA’s entry-level positioning means you should pay close attention to equipment differences, especially because the interior is described as less premium than you might expect and the standard setup is fairly basic in some areas. Look for the trims and packages that add the features you care about most.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive is available, and the AWD setup changes fuel economy slightly.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, vehicle-exit warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-drowsiness monitoring, crosswind assist, and traditional cruise control. The Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, active lane-keeping assist, active blind-spot assist, active brake assist with cross-traffic intervention, evasive steering assist, traffic-jam assist, route-based speed adjustment, and more.
• Infotainment: Standard MBUX includes two 7.0-inch display screens, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and four USB ports. Available upgrades include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, a WiFi hotspot, navigation, head-up display, and a 12-speaker Burmester audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four returns an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, while the all-wheel-drive version does one mpg worse in each category.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA is offered in 3 trim levels: GLA 250, GLA 250 4MATIC, AMG GLA 35.

Here's the short version:

• GLA 250: This is the most affordable way into the redesigned GLA, and it gives you the core package: the 221-horsepower turbo-four, the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, standard MBUX, and the basic safety suite. It makes the most sense if you want the GLA’s tech and size without paying for AWD or performance upgrades.
• GLA 250 4MATIC: This adds all-wheel drive and hill-descent control, making it the better pick if you want extra traction and a more versatile setup. It’s the trim to choose if you live where weather or road conditions make AWD worthwhile.
• AMG GLA 35: This is the performance-oriented choice, with 302 hp, AMG-specific drive modes, sport suspension, high-performance brakes, and an AMG-specific exhaust system. It suits you if you want the quickest and most aggressive version of the GLA rather than the best value.

The Driver Assistance Package is the key safety upgrade to consider if you want the fullest active-safety feature set.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 648 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,332, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The current average of $22,332 sits slightly below last year's $25,355.

That price movement suggests the GLA has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at today’s lower average, you may have less downside left than someone who bought when prices were higher. The key for resale will be keeping the car in strong condition and avoiding examples with visible wear or a rough service history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA safe?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Mercedes gives every GLA a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, vehicle-exit warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-drowsiness monitoring, crosswind assist, and traditional cruise control. If you want nearly all of the most desirable active-safety tech, you need the Driver Assistance Package, which adds adaptive cruise control, active lane-keeping assist, active blind-spot assist, active brake assist with cross-traffic intervention, evasive steering assist, traffic-jam assist, route-based speed adjustment, and more.

The Parking Assistance Package adds a surround-view camera system plus parallel and perpendicular parking assist. Without the Driver Assistance Package, the safety equipment list is more limited than what you’ll find on some less expensive rivals, so that package is worth prioritizing if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model year is the redesigned version, giving you a more conventional small-SUV shape, stronger tech, and a more modern overall package.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned GLA with modern tech and a lower used price than last year, the 2021 is the right path. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it carefully against other small luxury SUVs before buying, because the GLA’s ride quality, handling, and cargo space are not its strongest points.
