How much does the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?

Prices have softened 6.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 464 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive performance, and advanced technology. They also call out the comfortable interior and user-friendly features, which makes it appealing if you want an EV that feels more engaging than purely utilitarian.

The main trade-offs are poor ergonomic design and some charging or software concerns raised by owners. In practical terms, that means you should expect a strong style-and-driving experience, but you’ll want to be sure the cabin layout and tech behavior work for you in daily use.

Ford positions it as a performance-minded small electric crossover, so it fits you best if you want an EV with personality rather than a plain commuter appliance. 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with praise centered on its stylish design, impressive performance, and advanced technology. The review summary also highlights a comfortable interior and user-friendly features, which usually supports confidence in everyday ownership.

On the expert side, the adaptive cruise control system kept pace with traffic reliably, and the automated lane centering was described as one of the smoothest in a mainstream-brand vehicle. Ford also includes a cable for 240-volt home charging, which can make routine charging easier if your setup supports it.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is making sure the software, charging behavior, and overall condition have been well maintained before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen frequent fast charging. Focus on cabin condition, charging equipment, and whether the tech features operate as expected, since those are the areas most likely to affect your day-to-day experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin uses a minimalist design with a massive touchscreen, a thin digital instrument display, and standard rotary gear selector, while higher trims add nicer audio and some extra equipment. Base trims miss some of the richer touches found higher up, so compare feature content carefully if you want the best value.
• Powertrain: The Mach-E is offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the base RWD setup makes 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The AWD setup adds more punch, and the most potent version is the GT Performance Edition with 480 hp and 634 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, a reverse sensing system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, but part of a package on Select.
• Infotainment: The Mach-E uses a 15.5-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus over-the-air update capability. The instrument cluster measures 10.2 inches, and Premium, GT, and First Edition models get a nine-speaker B&O sound system.
• Range & charging: The Standard Range battery pack is 68 kilowatt-hours, and the Extended Range pack is 88 kWh. Ford says DC fast charging can take you from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes, and the car includes a cable for 240-volt home charging.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how the car has typically been charged, and confirm whether it has spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also review how much of the battery warranty remains so you understand your long-term risk.

Which 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, California Route 1, Premium, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Mach-E experience with the standard tech and safety equipment. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting point and are willing to skip some of the richer features found higher up.
• California Route 1: This trim is aimed at buyers who want more range-focused appeal and includes Active Drive Assist as standard. It’s a strong choice if you want a more advanced driver-assist setup without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Premium: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it builds on the core package with more comfort and convenience content, plus the upgraded B&O audio system. If you want the most balanced mix of features and everyday appeal, this is the trim to target.
• GT: This is the performance-focused choice, with the strongest output in the lineup and the most aggressive character. Buy this one if you care most about acceleration and want the most powerful Mach-E experience.

Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, and part of a package on Select.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 464 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,800, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?

The current average of $23,035 sits slightly below last year's $24,756.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it means resale value may be steadier if the car is well kept and priced realistically, but you should not expect a strong appreciation story from this model year.

The current range also shows that buyers still have room to shop around, so condition and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, a reverse sensing system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is also standard on higher trim levels.

Active Drive Assist is slated to be available, but it does not activate at launch. Instead, the hardware ships in the car and the software can be added later via an OTA update for a fee, with standard availability on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, and a package on Select.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It launched Ford’s first mass-market EV with a distinctive Mustang-inspired design and a broad trim lineup.

The bottom line: The 2021 model makes sense if you want the original launch-year Mach-E experience at a lower used price and you value style, range, and strong owner satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, shop carefully for the best-condition example and prioritize trims with the features you’ll actually use.
