How much does the 2021 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices have softened 7.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,906 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Dodge Charger earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its power, performance, and fun-to-drive character, and they also highlight the spacious interior and family-friendly comfort. The Charger’s broad appeal comes through clearly in its mix of muscle-car personality and everyday usefulness, especially if you want a sedan that can still handle daily driving duties.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and outdated technology, along with some concerns about price. Even so, the market still shows 28.3% good or great deals, which suggests you can still find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time, with reliability folded into its appeal alongside power and practicality. The expert review also reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Charger as a capable daily driver with a broad range of usable powertrains.

For ownership, the bigger risk is less about the basic driving experience and more about choosing a well-kept example, since higher-mileage or poorly maintained performance sedans can become expensive to live with.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Dodge Charger?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-performance trim. Pay close attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s equipment and wear match its mileage and asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Charger lineup spans SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT AWD, R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack Widebody, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye. The base SXT comes with 17-inch wheels, while higher trims add more wheel choices, wider-body styling on some versions, and more upscale materials such as Nappa leather at the top end.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.6-liter V6, a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, and supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 options. The V6 is the most fuel-efficient choice, while the higher-output engines deliver the performance the Charger is known for.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes brake assist, electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear park assist, rain brake support, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and automatic headlights are available in some, but not all models.
• Infotainment: Standard tech includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, satellite radio, four USB ports, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors. An 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, WiFi hotspot, and upgraded audio systems are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The most fuel-efficient choice is the 3.6-liter V6, while the SRT Hellcat Redeye is rated at 12 mpg in the city, 21 mpg on the highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Charger is offered in 9 trim levels: Charger SXT, Charger SXT AWD, Charger GT, Charger GT AWD, Charger R/T, Charger Scat Pack, Charger Scat Pack Widebody, Charger SRT Hellcat, Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye.

Here's the short version:

• Charger SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core personality at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the look, space, and V6 power without paying for extra performance hardware.
• Charger SXT AWD: Choose this if you want the same basic formula as the SXT but with all-wheel drive. It makes sense if traction matters more to you than rear-drive purity.
• Charger GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a step up in style and equipment without jumping into V8 pricing. It’s a smart middle ground if you want more presence than the SXT.
• Charger GT AWD: Pick this if you want the GT’s upgraded feel plus all-wheel drive. It’s the more versatile choice if you drive in weather where extra traction matters.
• Charger R/T: This is the first trim that really leans into the Charger’s V8 identity. If you want a stronger performance payoff and still want to stay below the Scat Pack price jump, this is the one to watch.
• Charger Scat Pack: This is the enthusiast sweet spot if you want serious power without going all the way to Hellcat territory. It’s the trim that best captures the Charger’s muscle-car mission.
• Charger Scat Pack Widebody: Choose this if you want the Scat Pack formula with a more aggressive stance and wider-body styling. It’s the right pick if appearance and performance presence matter to you.
• Charger SRT Hellcat: This is for buyers who want extreme power and are willing to pay for it. It’s the obvious step up if outright performance is your priority.
• Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye: This is the top-performance choice, and it’s the one for you if you want the most powerful Charger in the lineup. It suits buyers who want maximum output and don’t mind paying for it.

Safety equipment is not uniform across the lineup, so you should verify which driver-assistance features are included on the exact trim you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Charger?

The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,906 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.02% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,230, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $26,238 sits slightly below last year's $28,218.

That price movement suggests the Charger has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you choose a well-kept example and avoid overpaying, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand, especially among shoppers who want a practical muscle sedan with broad appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2021 Dodge Charger earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every new Charger comes standard with brake assist, electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear park assist, rain brake support, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and automatic headlights are available in some, but not all models.

The main caveat is that the Charger hasn’t been crash-tested by IIHS for this model year, and the structurally similar 2020 model received poor marks for headlights. That makes trim-by-trim equipment checks especially important if safety features are high on your list.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 adds a new track-ready variant that pushes the Hellcat V8 further.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,722, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,238 average.
• It blends sedan practicality with a performance-focused personality.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,032, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,238 average.
• It adds stronger everyday usability with more refined handling and tech.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, performance, and availability, the 2021 is the primary target. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 is the value play; if you want to spend more for a newer take, the 2022 is the step-up option.
