Used 2020 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2020 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 1.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,655 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.79/5 user rating and a 5.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, power, and spacious interior, and many describe it as sturdy and dependable for long-term ownership. The overview also points to its reputation for durability, which makes it appealing if you want a truck that feels built to last.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert notes poor fuel economy and a noisy driving experience, while the interior design can feel outdated compared with rivals. That makes it a better fit if you value proven toughness and cabin space more than refinement or efficiency.

With 36.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback repeatedly emphasizes that the truck is reliable, dependable, and well suited to long-term ownership. The expert summary reinforces that theme by describing it as “utterly bulletproof” in terms of reliability, and the performance notes call the V8 powertrain a refined and durable workhorse.

Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about living with aging fuel economy, noise, and outdated design.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Tundra?

At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, frame condition, and signs of prior repair. Because the truck’s safety record is a weak point, it is especially smart to focus on condition and completeness rather than just mileage or trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from SR to 1794 Edition, and the higher trims add more comfort and upscale equipment. The TRD Pro stands apart with a tougher, more technical appearance, black leather with red stitching, and red TRD Pro embroidery, while the lower trims are simpler and less plush.
• Powertrain: Every 2020 Tundra uses a 5.7-liter V8 with a 6-speed automatic. It makes 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, and the TRD Pro adds standard 4WD along with off-road hardware.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and you can also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Every Tundra includes a free year of Safety Connect services, and some trims add more equipment, but the crash-test results remain a concern.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 7-inch display, while pricier versions upgrade to an 8-inch screen. All versions include Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, USB ports, and connected services, while the TRD Pro adds dynamic navigation, dynamic voice recognition, dynamic point-of-interest search, and a 12-speaker JBL premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says a 4WD Tundra gets 13 mpg city, 17 mpg highway, and 14 mpg combined. The expert also reports an average of 14.3 mpg during mixed driving.

Which 2020 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price and the core Tundra V8 experience without extra frills. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability and value than comfort upgrades.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it keeps the truck’s fundamentals while moving you up from the most basic setup. It is the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of price and equipment.
• Limited: This is the right step up if you want a more polished cabin and a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the specialty trims. It suits buyers who want comfort to matter more in daily use.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused choice, with standard 4WD, Fox off-road shocks, a TRD-tuned dual exhaust, and an aluminum skid plate. It also gets the top-shelf infotainment setup and the most distinctive appearance.
• Platinum: This trim is for shoppers who want a more luxurious Tundra experience and are willing to pay for it. It sits above the mainstream trims and leans into comfort and premium presentation.
• 1794 Edition: This is the most distinctive upscale trim for buyers who want a more premium, personality-driven truck. It is best if you want the highest-end feel without specifically choosing the TRD Pro’s rugged character.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, so even lower trims get a meaningful safety baseline.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,655 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,080, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $36,822 sits slightly below last year's $37,351.

That small decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the softer trend means you should not expect rapid appreciation, but the Tundra’s reputation for durability helps support demand.

Because the truck is still associated with reliability and long-term ownership, it should remain appealing to used buyers who prioritize proven toughness. That can help cushion resale value even when broader pricing softens.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2020 Toyota Tundra earns Good ratings in some IIHS tests, but it also gets Marginal and Poor results in small-overlap frontal testing, and the headlights are rated Marginal. It earns five-star side-impact ratings, four-star frontal-impact ratings, and four-star rollover resistance ratings from NHTSA when equipped with 4WD; a RWD Tundra gets a three-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and you can also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Every Tundra includes a free year of Safety Connect services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling.

The main caveat is the crash-test performance, which is weaker than the truck’s technology list might suggest. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to the specific crash ratings and not assume standard driver-assistance features fully offset them.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 keeps the Tundra’s durable V8 formula while adding modern infotainment and standard Toyota Safety Sense.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $33,539, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $36,822 average.
• It keeps the same old-school, proven pickup formula and adds a revised TRD Pro suspension.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,381, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $36,822 average.
• It keeps the same proven truck formula while adding modern infotainment and safety tech.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, reliability reputation, and available inventory, the 2020 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer listing, the 2021 is the natural step up.
