How much does the 2020 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 9.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,151 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, comfort, and spacious cargo area. Reliability and safety also come through as recurring strengths, which helps explain the strong satisfaction score. In practical terms, that lines up well with a minivan built for people and gear, especially if you value space and all-weather capability over flash.

The trade-offs are familiar: the cabin’s ergonomic design is criticized, and the steering can feel twitchy. Even so, the Sienna’s usefulness is strongest for shoppers who want a family hauler with room, confidence, and versatility. Good and great deals account for 34.4% of listings, so there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers’ feedback points to reliability and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many saying they feel confident counting on it for everyday family use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Sienna’s practical, durable character and its ability to serve as a dependable people-and-cargo hauler. Toyota’s standard safety tech adds another layer of reassurance for long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s core reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been abused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Sienna?

At 69% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and mechanical condition. Pay close attention to signs of prior repair quality, since accident history can affect both long-term durability and resale value. It also makes sense to focus on how the steering, cabin ergonomics, and convenience features feel in real use, because those are the areas where this model draws the most criticism.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L comes relatively well equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, remote keyless entry, three-zone climate control, five USB ports, three 12-volt outlets, Bluetooth, a WiFi hot spot, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay. The LE adds dual power sliding doors, black roof rails, a rear bumper protector, easy-clean upholstery, manual second- and third-row sunshades, and an overhead driver console. The SE adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a mesh grille, fog lights, sport instrumentation, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a power rear liftgate. The SE Premium adds chrome-accented door handles with touch-sensor auto-locking, a power moonroof, 19-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, a DVD entertainment system, and the EasySpeak intercom system. The XLE adds upgraded side rocker panels, leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, an upgraded instrument panel with a color center display, woodgrain accents, and one-touch power up/down for all windows. The Limited adds leather front seats, leatherette second- and third-row seats, a heated and leather-trimmed steering wheel, a center console with a sliding top tray and cargo area storage compartment, plus JBL premium audio and navigation. The Limited Premium adds the DVD entertainment system, HID headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The SE is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of family-friendly equipment and price.

• Powertrain: All trims use a 3.5-liter V6 with 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and AWD is available on all trims except the base L. The FWD version returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined, while AWD versions return 18/24/20.

• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P includes lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited.

• Infotainment: The Sienna uses a 7-inch touchscreen on every trim, with Toyota’s infotainment software, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, five USB ports, and a WiFi hotspot. There is no larger screen on higher trims, but upper trims add features such as navigation and a JBL premium audio system.

• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined, while AWD versions return 18/24/20.

Which 2020 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Sienna is offered in 8 trim levels: L, LE, SE, SE Premium, XLE, XLE Premium, Limited, and Limited Premium.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it already gives you a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a WiFi hotspot, and a strong safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without power sliding doors or more upscale convenience features.

• LE: This is the family-friendly value pick because it adds dual power sliding doors, easy-clean upholstery, sunshades, and extra cabin convenience. If you want the best balance of everyday usefulness and price, this is the trim to target.

• SE: This is the CarGurus-recommended trim, and it adds 19-inch wheels, a sportier look, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a power rear liftgate. It’s the best choice if you want the most compelling mix of features without jumping too far up the price ladder.

• SE Premium: This trim builds on the SE with a moonroof, DVD entertainment, EasySpeak, and touch-sensor auto-locking. It suits you if rear-seat entertainment and extra convenience matter more than keeping costs down.

• XLE: This trim adds leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, a better instrument panel, woodgrain accents, and one-touch power windows. It’s a good fit if you want a more upscale cabin and standard blind-spot monitoring.

• XLE Premium: The available safety package note matters here: blind-spot monitoring is standard on XLE and Limited, which is a useful upgrade if you want more confidence in traffic.

• Limited: This is the most upscale mainstream choice, with leather front seats, a heated steering wheel, JBL audio, navigation, and added storage convenience. It’s the right pick if you want the richest feature set without going all the way to the top trim.

• Limited Premium: This adds the DVD entertainment system, HID headlights, and rain-sensing wipers. Choose it if you want the most fully equipped version and plan to keep passengers entertained on longer trips.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Sienna?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,151 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,217, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $26,217 sits slightly below last year's $28,847.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. Well-kept examples with desirable trims and clean history should hold up better than rougher ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2020 Toyota Sienna earns five out of five stars in crash testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) gives it the best score of Good in many areas, including side crash, rollover crash, and moderate front overlap crash.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard and includes lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited. The main caveat is that the Sienna’s twitchy steering can make lane discipline more demanding, so the standard driver-assistance suite is especially valuable.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as the only minivan with available all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,413, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,217 average.
• Toyota adds a standard hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and you need a practical, space-first minivan, the 2020 is the smarter buy. If efficiency and a major redesign matter more than price, the 2021 is the stronger alternative for you.
