Used 2020 Porsche 911 for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2020 Porsche 911 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 672 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Porsche 911 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Porsche 911 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal on both owner satisfaction and editorial evaluation. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its stunning design, exceptional performance, and thrilling drive. They also appreciate the comfort and build quality, and the model’s reputation for being a serious driver’s car comes through clearly in the overview.

The trade-offs are familiar for a sports car at this level: the interior materials feel cheap in lower-spec form, and advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the 911’s mix of iconic styling, engaging driving dynamics, and everyday usability makes it a strong fit if you want a sports car that feels special rather than merely fast.

With 29.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Porsche 911 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner summary also points to a car that feels highly dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts, with praise for its build quality and the kind of ownership experience people tend to trust over time.

The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the car as well-mannered, confident, and composed in a wide range of situations. It also notes that the 911 has one of the strongest resale values in the industry, which usually goes hand in hand with a reputation for being a car buyers can count on.

If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for a car that may have been driven hard or optioned lightly, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Porsche 911?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation on a specific car. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a sports car where wear, tire condition, and option content can vary a lot from one example to the next. Focus on overall condition, because the cheapest car on paper may not be the best value once you factor in maintenance and missing equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car is the most stripped-down version, and the review notes that it can feel sparse inside without options. Higher-spec versions add more equipment and capability, so you should pay close attention to whether the car has the features you expect rather than assuming they’re standard.
• Powertrain: The 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six comes in 379-horsepower form in the Carrera and Carrera 4, while the Carrera S and Carrera 4S raise output to 443 horsepower. The eight-speed dual-clutch automatic is standard, and the seven-speed manual is available only on the S and 4S models.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection and front/rear parking sensors come standard. Lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring are optional.
• Infotainment: Navigation comes standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Porsche Connect, and onboard LTE WiFi. The Premium package adds 360 cameras, a Bose stereo, and blind-spot monitoring.
• Fuel efficiency: The rear-wheel-drive Carrera S with the PDK is rated at 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.

Which 2020 Porsche 911 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Porsche 911 is offered in 4 trim levels: Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S, Carrera 4S.

Here's the short version:

• Carrera: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core 911 experience with the 379-horsepower twin-turbo flat-six and standard dual-clutch automatic. It makes sense if you want the iconic shape and driving feel without paying for extra output you may not need.
• Carrera 4: Choose this if you want the same base powertrain with all-wheel drive for added all-weather confidence. It’s the better fit if you expect to drive in less predictable conditions.
• Carrera S: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds the stronger 443-horsepower engine and unlocks the manual transmission. If you want the most engaging version without jumping to the top of the range, this is the one to target.
• Carrera 4S: Pick this if you want the stronger engine plus all-wheel drive. It’s the most complete all-around choice in the lineup for buyers who want extra traction and extra performance.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so check carefully for the optional driver-assistance equipment you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Porsche 911?

If you find a listing below $126,029, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Porsche 911's resale value?

The current average of $127,923 sits slightly below last year's $129,138.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed relatively stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you as a future seller, that usually means the car is holding value in a predictable way instead of losing ground quickly.

The 911’s strong desirability and limited supply help support pricing, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. If you buy carefully and keep the car in good condition, you’re starting from a position that should remain attractive to future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Porsche 911 safe?

The 2020 Porsche 911 has not been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection and front/rear parking sensors come standard. Lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring are optional, so you’ll want to confirm which driver-assistance features are actually fitted on the car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model year brings the 992-generation redesign, with standout performance and the availability of a manual transmission on select trims.

The bottom line: If you want the newer-generation 911 with strong owner satisfaction, stable pricing, and a broad used-car inventory, the 2020 is the right place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2020 gives you a compelling mix of modern performance and market stability.
