A redesign is never really complete until you have the full engine lineup involved. With last year’s redesign of the Z4, BMW left the iconic inline 6-cylinder engine on the shelf, leaving only 4-cylinder power for the punchy little roadster. This year, the I6 returns with the M40i trim, promising plenty of power to please the people.

It really is “the ultimate driving machine”. Only possible complaint is no real complaint, but it would be the road noise from the soft top. To be expected with any soft top though. Love the performance of the car!

The Z4 30i is good value. The M40i is a bit rich. 6 cyl is powerful by the 4 is very peppy. Also 4 is better for everyday driving. The car has great handling and comfort. Used are over priced at the moment. Its a summer car. Wait for 2023.
