How much does the 2020 Jeep Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 9.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,332 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.77/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its strong performance, comfortable ride, and spacious, well-equipped interior. That fits well if you want a compact SUV with Jeep character, available all-weather traction, and a more modern cabin than earlier versions. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many buyers, with praise centered on strong performance and a comfortable ride. The same reviews suggest it can be a vehicle you count on for everyday use, especially if you value a smooth V6 and a well-appointed interior. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent repairs, then test the drivetrain carefully on a route that includes city and highway driving. Because this model year has a mixed reputation in the broader lineup, a clean, well-documented example is the safest path.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,332 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,503, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $16,503 sits slightly below last year's $18,203.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale gains harder unless you buy well and keep the vehicle in excellent condition. If you choose a clean, well-maintained example, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation. Strong demand for this model’s mix of comfort and capability can still help support used-market interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,681, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,503 average.
• It adds more polished technology and broader capability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and still has solid owner approval. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model with a more refined tech-and-capability mix, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
