Why it stands out
The 2020 Hyundai Veloster stands out because it blends a quirky three-door hatchback layout with genuine enthusiast appeal. It still had the same unusual body style, but by this generation it had more power, slightly bigger proportions, and a lot more technology. Hyundai also gave it more aggressive styling, which helped reinforce its hot-hatch personality.
For 2020, the Veloster’s standard equipment was notably generous. It included forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, automatic headlights, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cruise control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a seven-inch infotainment system. A multi-link suspension was standard on all models, and the six-speed manual remained the standard transmission, with a six-speed automatic available on non-turbo models and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic available with the Turbo. The lineup also included the Veloster N, which helped give the car a more serious performance image.
There were a few tradeoffs, though. The Veloster’s three-door design was polarizing, and it only seated four. Even so, it remained appealing for buyers who wanted something fun to drive with a practical hatchback side, and the 2020 model’s mix of standard tech, available performance hardware, and distinctive packaging made it one of the more memorable compact cars on the market.

If you want fantastic fuel economy and go kart like handling this is the car for you. While it may not have a ton of power it is still an absolute blast to drive especially with a 6 speed manual.
